A Maya casino is an online casino that lists Maya, the Philippine e-wallet formerly known as PayMaya, as a way to deposit or withdraw. How Maya works with online casinos changed in August 2025, when Maya, like GCash, removed in-app access to gaming sites on the orders of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP). This guide explains what changed, how a Maya payment usually works today, what to check for fees and limits, and how to keep your money safe.

  • Maya disabled access to gaming sites through its in-app Games feature from 8 p.m. on 16 August 2025, following a BSP order.
  • Any Maya payment to a casino now happens through the operator’s own website or app, if the operator lists Maya at all.
  • Use a Maya account in your own name that matches your casino account, or withdrawals may be held.
  • Never send money to a personal Maya number or QR code from a chat or “agent”.

What changed in August 2025

In August 2025 the BSP directed the banks and e-wallets it supervises to remove icons and links in their apps that led to online gambling sites, giving them 48 hours to comply. Maya said it would disable access to gaming sites and apps through its Games feature from 8 p.m. on Saturday, 16 August 2025, at the same time as GCash. Users could move remaining funds from linked gaming accounts back to their Maya wallet through the Games feature before the deadline; after it, withdrawals had to go through the gaming provider’s own website or app.

A separate BSP proposal, reported later in August 2025, would further restrict e-wallet payments to online gambling, and a draft BSP circular on merchant vetting was reported in September 2026. Both were reported as proposals. How a Maya casino deposit usually works

Steps vary by operator. A typical flow:

  1. Verify the operator on PAGCOR‘s records first. See how to tell if an online casino is legit.
  2. Log in on the operator’s official site or app, using the address you checked, not a link from a message.
  3. Open the cashier and choose Maya, if it is listed. If it is not listed, the operator does not support it; do not use a workaround.
  4. Enter the amount, checking the minimum, maximum and any fee.
  5. Approve the payment on the Maya payment page or in your Maya app as prompted.
  6. Save the reference number and confirm your casino balance updates.

For the general process, see how to deposit at online casinos in the Philippines.

Make a small first deposit, then request a small withdrawal to test the full route before you move larger amounts.

How a Maya withdrawal usually works

  1. Complete KYC verification at the casino. Operators require ID checks before paying out.
  2. Add your Maya account as a withdrawal method. It should be in your own name.
  3. Request the withdrawal and save the reference number.
  4. Wait for review. The operator may run checks before releasing funds.
  5. Confirm receipt in your Maya transaction history.

Troubleshooting

  • Maya deducted the money but your casino balance did not change: keep the reference number and a screenshot, and contact the operator’s support in writing with the amount and time. If it is not resolved, contact Maya support with the same details.
  • Withdrawal rejected or on hold: check for a name mismatch between your casino account, ID and Maya account, incomplete verification, or an active bonus with unmet wagering.
  • Maya missing from the cashier: the operator may not support it, or support may have changed. Choose another method the operator lists.

Maya vs GCash for casino payments

Both e-wallets removed their in-app gaming access on the same date in August 2025, and both now depend on what each licensed operator supports through its own cashier. The practical differences for you are which one your chosen operator lists, the limits on your own account, and any fees. Our GCash casino guide covers GCash in the same format, and safe online casino payment methods compares the alternatives.

Safety rules for Maya payments

  • Pay only through the official cashier of a PAGCOR-verified operator.
  • Never send money to a personal Maya number or QR code shared in a chat, group or by an “agent”.
  • Never share your password, PIN or one-time codes. Real support will not ask for them.
  • Be wary of anyone asking for a fee to “release” winnings. See online casino scams.
  • Set deposit limits at the casino before you start.
